THE BRUTAL BAJAN
Sangre de Diablo Sauce
• 2 Tbls. olive oil
• 1 cup diced yellow onion
• 1 green bell pepper, diced
• 6 cloves garlic, minced
• 2 jalapenos, finely chopped
• 1 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes in puree
• 1 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1 Tbls. red pepper flakes
• 1/2 cup red wine
• 1/4 cup of The Brutal Bajan
Over medium-high heat, heat oil and sauté onion and pepper until they begin to soften. Add garlic, stir for a moment, then add jalapenos, tomatoes, salt, pepper flakes, and red wine and simmer for 20 minutes. Add 1/8 cup of The Brutal Bajan, stir, taste, and add up to 1/8 cup more hot sauce if desired. Stir again and remove from heat. Makes 5 cups.
